Considering the deteriorating health and regulatory situation, and the anticipated impact of these on visitors and on how the show is run, Reed Expositions France has now with regret decided that it will not be possible to hold the 2020 edition of Expoprotection.
Expoprotection 2020, France’s leading show for non-business risk prevention and risk management for organisations, local authorities and government departments, was due to run 3-5 November at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles.
At the beginning of summer, and in spite of the health crisis, Expoprotection was still planned to take place in early November, enjoying loyal support from industry trade associations, widespread backing among exhibitors, and encouraging feedback from the visitor survey.
The organisers have however unfortunately been forced to accept that the situation has since deteriorated. While the international dimension epitomises the DNA of the show, the deterioration of the health situation in many parts of France, including Paris Region, has resulted in more stringent regulations and travel restrictions that make international travel difficult, or impossible, for clients, exhibitors and visitors alike.
Jean-François Sol Dourdin, Expoprotection Director, explains: “Developments over recent weeks have led us to conclude that the conditions are no longer in place to organise a 2020 edition able to meet the standards of an event like Expoprotection. While every precaution has been taken to prevent health risks at the show, our obligation is to guarantee exhibitors and visitors a return on investment in keeping with their expectations. We share the disappointment of all those who have stayed with us and for whom Expoprotection was to be a major tool in revitalising their business toward the end of the year. That is why, as from 2021, we will be offering our clients new, high-added-value meetings. The ‘hybrid’ approach, combining both physical and digital events, will be at the heart of our programme. As for the Expoprotection that we know, we’ll be announcing the 2022 dates shortly.”
