Feet are an extremely delicate anatomical part, forced to support the body and to endure a considerable workload every day. Climbing stairs, making sudden movements on slippery surfaces, carrying weights, standing for long periods of time, are all activities that require physical effort and the use of an appropriate shoe that allows you to perform any movement safely, with minimum effort and maintaining a balanced posture. Before and after the purchase of the accident-prevention footwear as an Individual Protection Device (PPE), attention must be paid to many “responsible” details of the health and safety of the foot.

THE IDEAL FIT OF FOOTWEAR HOW TO IDENTIFY FORM AND SIZE IN A CORRECT WAY

“The human foot is a work of art and an engineering masterpiece”! If what Michelangelo says is true, then there should also be a perfect shoe size for each of us. In reality none of us has both feet of the same size, shape or proportions. The first rule to follow when you want to buy a pair of safety shoes specific to a work environment, is to identify those more suited to the size and shape of your foot, perhaps with the help of Sixton Peak Feetview, a simple and practical tool which helps to quickly determine if the subject has a plantar arch of normal, low or high height. In the Sixton Peak collection there are several lines that are distinguished to respect the criterion of comfort to the maximum and are classified according to work, fit and shape. It is known that the best time to choose a pair of shoes is at the end of the day, when the feet are more tired, to avoid the risk of finding themselves with shoes that are difficult to wear. Always try the shoes carefully before purchase and on both feet, also taking a few steps to test their comfort.

“Sixton Peak safety shoes have now reached levels of technological perfection and excellence in the upper, in the soles, in the midsole”

THE CORRECT MAINTENANCE OF SIXTON PEAK SHOES

Starting with the “right” shoe that is suitable for the size and shape of your foot is not everything! Attention must also be paid to adequate and precise maintenance, with regular and methodical cleaning and proper washing, to ensure a good level of safety, hygiene and health of the foot. For optimal performance, we recommend having two pairs of shoes available, to alternate them, allowing sufficient ventilation time after a day’s work. Here are some practical suggestions from Maspica SpA to prolong the life of the shoe.

Safety shoes in grain leather

  • After a day of work, it is recommended to extract the inner insole to release odors and allow aeration; open the lacing and let the shoe dry for good from the accumulated humidity, possibly in a ventilated room and at room temperature.
  • Clean very dirty shoes with a brush and lukewarm water, or with a damp cloth, gently rubbing the area to be cleaned. The most stubborn stains should be treated with white vinegar. Removing the dirt extends the life of the shoes especially when they are in contact with substances able to consume the materials.
  • Never dry your shoes with warm air, taking care to keep away from any heat source above 30 ° C, direct sunlight, radiators and radiating calorific bodies.
  • It is good practice to periodically treat the shoe with protective agents, such as a cream of wax, or seal fat or cod, to prevent excessive dryness and brittleness, do not lose the properties of the leather and to avoid the absorption of water and dirt .
  • An important part of the safety shoe is the sole. Remove stones and debris accumulated between the threads of the sole, to always ensure a good grip. Periodic cleaning of these threads must be carried out avoiding aggressive detergents that damage the anti-slip properties.
  • In the case of oil stains, it is possible to use cotton soaked in whole milk, rubbing gently on the stain, leaving it to dry away from any direct heat source.

Suede and nubuck shoes

  • The cloth soaked in water is not as useful. Better to resort toa soft bristled brush and tackle the dirty area, removing dust and residues, with a gentle touch and without rubbing.
  • The most difficult stains can be removed with the classic eraser (two-toned red and blue), or with a brass brush.
  • If the stains have not disappeared completely treat with a small amount of white vinegar.
  • With oil stains, the number one enemy, the artisan know-how is always effective. Simply apply powder or starch, until completely absorbed and then brush. Alternatively you can use the appropriate sprays that are found in the market.

Shoes in synthetic microfiber

Ojfwdievesflbsftasyy - hsi -

  • Synthetic footwear should be cleaned gently using a damp cloth. Synthetic crust and microfiber must be treated as for suede and nubuck.
  • Remove dirt and dust, with a neutral detergent for fabrics or Marseille soap. Normally this type of shoe is not washable, because it could cause permanent damage to the fabric and its components. Better then to intervene with warm water, taking care to dry in well-ventilated areas.

Sixton Peak safety shoes have now reached levels of technological perfection and excellence in the upper, in the soles, in the midsole. They guarantee the maximum performance of techniques and comfort. The suggested indications will allow you to keep them nice and comfortable for a long time and to keep moving well and safely!
