The fact that ALBATROS products are way ahead in terms of design, function, comfort and safety is well known. An independent jury of 67 international design experts has now confirmed this not only for one but also for two safety shoes. Out of 6,375 entries from 52 countries, the jurors awarded the coveted seal to the winners in Hamburg.
“We are delighted that the ALBATROS models: ULTRATRAIL OLIVE CTX MID and ULTIMATE IMPULSE OLIVE LOW have been awarded the IF DESIGN AWARD 2019.” announces Christian Güse, Head of Marketing at ISM. “This means that ALBATROS, along with premium brands such as Porsche, Hilti and Nike, ranks among the prizewinners of the world-renowned design label.” The performance safety shoes were awarded in the Product discipline, Industry/Tools category. “Winning this award is an extraordinary achievement and honors the hard work and passion that goes into our products,” Güse continues.
The iF Design Award is presented once a year by the world’s oldest independent design institution, iF Inter-national Forum Design GmbH in Hanover. It is one of the most important design awards in the world and recognises achievements in design from all disciplines: Product, packaging, communication and service design/UX, architecture and interior design as well as professional concept. The award-winning products will be presented in the IF DESIGN GUIDE, IF DESIGN APP and at the IF DESIGN EXHIBITION in Hamburg from May 4th to June 2nd, 2019.

The ULTIMATE IMPULSE OLIVE LOW was able to convince the jury with its innovative ELASTIC FIT comfort band, the SAFETY KNIT upper material, a highly flexible, breathable fabric from ISM and the slip-on design with extravagant lacing.
ELASTIC FIT is an elasticated knitted collar made from extremely flexible textile fibers that adapts to the wearer’s foot like a sock. This guarantees optimum freedom of movement and wearing comfort whilst providing optimal protection against the ingress of dust, dirt and small parts.
Featuring a waterproof and breathable COA.TEX® membrane, the ULTRATRAIL OLIVE CTX MID impresses with its clear design made of high-quality smooth full grain leather. It combines all the properties that are vital for occupational safety, be it indoors or outdoors, and for the most demanding requirements faced with outdoor use.
Both models are equipped with an IMPULSE.FOAM® midsole that returns up to 55% of the energy used to the body with every step while also ensuring maximum shock absorption, outstanding stability and long-lasting comfort.
ALBATROS demonstrates with both models that optimum safety and function as well as contemporary, modern design do not necessarily have to be a contradiction in terms.
