Working at height will be the focus of 3M’s stand at The Health and Safety Event for the first time next month, following demand from visitors.
The science-based technology company will showcase its fall protection demonstration van at the show, which will take place from 21 to 23 March at the NEC in Birmingham.
The vehicle, which tours UK workplaces demonstrating the need for Fall Protection Equipment (FPE), will be used throughout each of the three days to show how different types of FPE cope with falls from various heights.
For the third year running, 3M will act as title sponsor for the show’s popular Safety Dialogue section, hosting informative discussions between the audience and panels of expert speakers.
Four subjects will be covered each day in the Safety Dialogue Theatre, with the format varying between panel discussions, seminars and Q&A sessions.
Participation will be encouraged, and audience members will be able to network with leading authorities from their respective industries after each event.
Also at the 3M stand – number A60 – the company will display its wide range of personal protective equipment (PPE), with technical experts on hand to answer any questions.
Alan McArthur, Technical Supervisor at 3M, said: “The Health and Safety Event is always a great opportunity for networking and learning from some of the best companies and individuals in the industry.
“After last year’s show, organisers told us many visitors were keen to see an extra focus on working at height this time around. As a company with significant expertise in this area, offering training and a range of innovative fall protection products, 3M is delighted to be providing this.
“Our fall protection demonstration van always gets a great reaction, as it really brings to life some surprising realities of working at height, such as how much impact even a one-metre fall can have on both PPE and the wearer.
“We’re also excited to be sponsoring the Safety Dialogue talks again this year. These events are always instructive and fun, and there are some excellent panellists lined up.”
