Aqua Safety Showers International has seen a significant increase in orders for its self-contained Arctic Tank Fed Safety Showers which provide up to a guaranteed 30 minutes of tepid water drench time. All manufactured in accordance with ANSI Z358.1-2014 and are ideal for external use in temperatures down to minus 50 degrees.

Climate change is bringing with it even more challenging environments in which to operate with industry having to tackle dramatic drops in winter temperatures. These safety showers have therefore been specifically designed to stand up to extreme conditions and have already been in operation in some of the most inhospitable areas of the world.

Models TS1500 and TS2500 are suitable for both inside and outside use. They are designed to be highly visible for ease of identification and are suitable for both hazardous and non-hazardous areas. Operationally they are recommended for temperatures of -50 degrees C to +50 deg C

Importantly, the water supply is contained in a header tank and controlled at a nominal 17-18°C with its own robust heating element. This keeps the water temperature to below the threshold of Legionella thereby eliminating its proliferation. Additionally, using TEPID water avoids the cold water ‘experience’ which has the effect of closing the skin’s pores which can trap any contaminant so hampering attempts to wash it off. Freezing water can also exacerbate the problem as there is the potential of the user going into thermal shock.
These emergency safety tanks are manufactured in corrosion resistant materials and meet fully regulated health and safety standards. These units can be fitted with many optional extras: e.g local & remote alarms, external lighting and dry area changing room to make the unit site specific.
