Casella is once again demonstrating its commitment to helping its customers reduce environmental risks from large construction projects with the introduction of the Guardian2. The Guardian2 a system that allows the simultaneous monitoring and reporting of noise, dust (PM10 and PM2.5) and vibration (singly or in combination), as well as wind speed and direction for an all-encompassing assessment of emitted levels.
This new version represents a significant improvement on the previous Guardian released in 2012. The all new Guardian2 features a smaller form factor making it much more flexible to locate. This small, lightweight solution is easy to transport and handle so its plug and play installation is simple and cost effective. In addition, Casella now offer an all new web based interface, the bespoke “Dataview 24/7”, which can be accessed at; www.casella247.com. This system now allows users to monitor and capture data even easier than ever before, with its intuitive interface and simple reporting system, now with a provision also for SMS and email alerts, ensuring users are alerted to levels that exceed pre-set thresholds.
The Guardian2 will also be the first multi agent system to use the mHUB datalogger, this new and improved communications interface will ensure data integrity and availability wherever in the world the Guardian is located. Plus, in the event of a communication drop out, the mHUB eliminates the potential for data loss as it is continually storing data for later transmission.
With years of experience in producing quality air sampling, vibration and noise monitoring instruments, Guardian 2 has been developed using the engineering expertise that Casella and its customers are accustomed to. Casella also utilised its knowledge and a deep understanding of the construction and demolition market worldwide, and crucially, customer feedback gained from the introduction of the Boundary Guardian monitoring solution, which was a finalist at the 2013 Construction News Awards.
Guardian2 will continue to ensure that the construction and demolition sector meet local government compliance requirements as well as their Considerate Constructor objectives. The product is able to run from 100-250V mains power supply, plus the addition of a solar panel option means it is suitable for many site applications where fence line monitoring is required.
The user convenience of the Guardian2 ranks highly as it also provides automated reports which can be configured for multiple recipients and report frequency, therefore minimising the need for user intervention.
Tim Turney, Product Manager at Casella said: “The Guardian2 truly opens up the concept of multi-agent monitoring. We have further developed a solution to site monitoring, with a simple to use, intuitive website that is easy to navigate, ensuring instant familiarity.”
