Hearing conservation will be the topic of the next instalment of 3M’s popular Science of Safety webinar series.
The webinar, titled ‘Hearing Conservation – Selecting the Right Product’, will run from 10.00 to 11.00 on 25 April 2018, led by Mohammed Saleem, a technical specialist at the science-based technology company.
Mohammed will discuss the potential hazards of exposure to loud noise, before explaining the key components of an effective hearing conservation programme.
He said: “Exposure to hazardous noise can lead to serious conditions including deafness and tinnitus, as well as associated health problems such as insomnia. Many of these are incurable, yet entirely preventable.
“This makes it vital that employers and health and safety professionals know how to implement an effective hearing conservation programme. Selecting the right equipment is only one part of this, so I will also be going into detail about the other important aspects.”
3M’s Science of Safety webinar series – previously called the Safety Spotlight series – is aimed at everyone from company directors and health and safety managers to employees wishing to broaden their knowledge.
The interactive webinars are broadcast live online, allowing participants to ask questions in real time both during and after the session, prompting lively discussion.
Webinar attendance may also be used towards CPD points.
