About Health & Safety International
The journal for employee protection
Making safety a priority, not an afterthought, HSI is Europe’s largest audited safety magazine. Published five times a year,
it focuses on the importance of occupational safety in a wide range of industries across Europe. The magazine includes
in-depth articles, case studies and product reports that educate the reader in employee protection.
Health and safety has, for too long and by too many, been seen simply as unnecessary paperwork. The ticking of boxes to satisfy
the bureaucratic, nameless, faceless, clipboard wearing hardhat. Or perhaps it’s been an afterthought, with budget
concerns and building aesthetics ranking above worker safety in the design stages of projects.
Seeking to change attitudes towards safety, the magazine’s in-depth articles use personal protective equipment to start the
safety conversation, before spring-boarding into the broader picture of workplace safety: hierarchies of control, safety
culture, stress, ergonomics and designing risk out of the equation altogether.
While some magazines rely heavily on editorial from manufacturers to fill their pages, HSI carries several in depth unbiased articles in each issue. Our authors are respected consultants, organisations and notified bodies from around the world, such as the BIA, HSL, TUV, DIN, SATRA, and BTTG, responsible for legislation, certification, procuring and using products.
